Why Walking Alone Feels Harder Than Blending In

I have always found it peculiar how challenging it can be to walk alone, stand out from the crowd, and strive for personal and professional growth.

In this article, I want to explore why walking alone often feels harder than blending in.

When I started my journey as a digital entrepreneur more than a decade ago, I realized that many individuals desire to bring others down (mostly our own people), are resistant to growth, and harbor envy toward those who possess greater intelligence or capabilities.

How did I achieve success after struggling with all this?

Let me explain you!

Why is it hard to walk alone to achieve your goal?

The desire to pull others down:

In a world where individuality and uniqueness should be celebrated, it seems that many people can't help but feel threatened by those who dare to be different.

Whether it's due to fear of their own inadequacies or an innate desire to maintain the status quo, individuals often find solace in bringing others down.

Walking alone requires courage, resilience, and an unwavering belief in oneself.

However, in doing so, we set ourselves apart from the herd, presenting a threat to those who are content with mediocrity.

Resistance to growth:

Blending in is comfortable; it requires little effort or introspection.

On the other hand, going solo requires constant personal growth, overcoming challenges, and pushing boundaries.

Although it can be tempting to settle into what is familiar, true satisfaction can only be found when you accept discomfort and strive for progress.

People who are afraid of change and growth are often intimidated by those who demonstrate perseverance, intelligence, and the ability to grow without fear.

Jealousy of intelligence and ability:

Human nature tends to compare and compete with one another. When someone has more intelligence or ability, jealousy arises.

Instead of celebrating their accomplishments or finding inspiration, some individuals resort to feelings of resentment, leading to jealousy which further fuels the cycle of negativity.

Walking alone creates both awe and envy in others, as it shows the courage to embrace individuality and go beyond limitations.

How to deal with it?

If you are walking alone and going through all the situations mentioned, then congratulations, you are on the right track, and soon success will be at your feet.

But how?

That is, despite the challenges of walking alone, it is important to remember how much greatness you can achieve when you stand up and refuse to be influenced by the opinions of others.

Like the mighty lion who commands respect in the jungle, you must take responsibility for your own destiny. "Be like the lion who never asks anyone's permission to be the king of the jungle."

You don't need permission or validation from others to achieve your dreams. Embracing your inner lion can help you block out the noise of negative people and focus on your path to success.

Closing Thoughts

Walking alone is no easy task, but it is undoubtedly a rewarding journey. Through my own experiences, I have learned that the desire to put others down, resistance to growth, and jealousy towards intelligence and ability are common elements in society. It is important to remember that your ultimate satisfaction lies in embracing your uniqueness and walking your own path without seeking permission or validation from others.

So, let’s be the lions in the jungle of life, don’t succumb to the pressure to blend in with others and fearlessly pursue your dreams.
