News: The government of India decided to merge
Jawan Jyoti with National War Memorial
The
Government of India has decided that the Amar Jawan Jyoti will be merged with
the National War Memorial Jyoti. This means that now the flame of the sacrifice
of the soldiers will be lit in the National War Memorial itself and not on the
Amar Jawan Jyoti because, on the occasion of 50 years of the 1971 war with
Pakistan, the Government of India has now dedicated this Amar Jawan Jyoti to
the National War. We have decided to shift the memorial, which has been
formally announced by the Indian Prime Minister.
It is worth
mentioning that the names of about 26000 soldiers who were martyred in the war
and all military operations so far are inscribed in the National War Memorial.
The Central Government has clarified its stand on whether this decision of the
Government of India is right or wrong, saying that the flame of Amar Jawan
Jyoti is not being extinguished, it will just be merged with the flame of the
National War Memorial.
The
government says that it was strange to see that the flame of Amar Jawan Jyoti
paid homage to the martyrs of 1971 and other wars, but their names are not
present there. The names inscribed on the India Gate are only those martyrs who
fought for the British in the First World War and the Anglo-Afghan War.
The names of
the martyrs in all the Indian wars, including 1971, are included in the World
War Memorial. And in this way, the logic of the central government is that if
the names of the immortal martyrs are inscribed, they will be able to pay true
tribute to them. Along with this, a statue of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose will
be installed at India Gate, the information of which was shared by PM Modi by
tweeting and said that at a time when the whole country is celebrating the
125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, he is happy to inform
that A grand granite statue of Netaji will be installed at India Gate. This
will be a symbol of India's gratitude towards them.
