News: India's first Digital Justice
Clock
Recently
India's first Digital Justice Clock has been inaugurated in Gujarat High Court.
Supreme Court Judge Justice D.Y. Chandrachud appointed Supreme Court Judge
Justice M.R. Shah and Justice Bela Trivedi as well as Chief Justice of Gujarat
High Court Arvind Kumar.
In recent
times, the scope of e-facilitation has also increased in the state courts, in
which other services including e-court fees are available through online
digitization. Due to this the justice delivery system has become easier.
There has to
be a healthy balance between the use of technology and human intervention to
enhance the experience of justice delivery systems.
Technology
is a very powerful instrument of any kind of change and it is very necessary to
use it to strengthen the justice system. Along with this, the electronic
version of the Gujarat High Court website has also been launched and the
e-court fee system has also been launched in all the courts of the state of
Gujarat. Thus the Gujarat High Court has become the first High Court in the
country where Justice Clock has been launched.
Justice
Clock refers to the installation of an outdoor display LED wall within the High
Court and other court complexes of the state. In which the information about
the disposal of pending cases will be shown continuously.
Supreme
Court Justice D.Y. Chandrachud on January, 17th called for a healthy
balance between the use of technology and human intervention to enhance the
experience of the justice delivery system. Justice Chandrachud expressed his
views on this through video conferencing after the virtual inauguration of a
Nyaya Glock installed with an e-court fee system in all the courts of the state
in the Gujarat High Court.
