India's PM Shree Narendra Modi Honored With Bhutan's Highest Civilian Award

On 17th December 2021, Bhutan has honored Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the Nagdag Pelji Khorlo (Order of the Druk Gyalpo Award).
It is the highest civilian honor given by the Kingdom of Bhutan.
Announcing the award, Bhutan's King Jigme Khesar Namgyal Wangchuck highlighted PM Modi's support over the years.
Appreciating India's cooperation, Bhutan described Mr. Modi as a great and spiritual person.
It is worth noting that Bhutan was the first country to get the gift of a vaccine from the Government of India for the coronavirus.
India has specifically included Bhutan in the plans for the prevention of the Kovid-19 epidemic.
Not long ago, India launched the second phase of the RuPay card electronically in Bhutan.
It is worth mentioning that many countries have honored Mr. Modi with their highest civilian awards in the past as well.
Some information about the award
The award was instituted in 2008.
It is worth noting that today i.e. 17th December is also the National Day of Bhutan.
The people of Bhutan and those who have dedicated their lives to the service of the country are honored with this award.
Rani Ashi Kesang Choden, Je Thrizur Tenzin Dendup and Khenpo Trulku Ngwang Jigme Chodara are among the past recipients of the award.
